Award Winning Art

"Wayne's Fiddle"

I received an award! I entered the artwork I did for Wayne, my fiddle instructor,  in the Bartlesville Art Association's Spring Show. It won a Merit Award. The judge, Larry Kitchen said the complimentary colors played a big part in his choosing the award, the green background with the red of fiddle. He also liked the lace tablecloth. The judge also liked the way it was presented with a nice mat and frame. It was framed by a local framer, who does exceptional work. Wayne and his wife, Glenda was at the reception to hear the comments. I’m happier for them than for myself. They now have an award winning piece of artwork in their dining room.

Wayne is a member of the Irish band Kilkenny Road

Valerie: Why would you say you're "surprised it won anything"? That doesn't sound like a confident artist. I'd like to see you explore that a little bit more and if you want to reveal your doubts, maybe talk about them as doubts rather than playing down your award. Congratulations!

Awesome! And Wayne is pretty proud too.
I'm just waiting for a drawing of my hammer dulcimer. With 96 strings, it's gotta be a piece of cake to draw!

Thank you, Glen. Hmmm...the hammer dulcimer....that might be like drawing the bicycle wheel spokes....very challenging. I love a challenge!
